WiBAS™G5 MDUConnect

Unlocking Gigabit Connectivity in Every Building

Breaking the Barriers of MDU Broadband Delivery

Urban Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) often pose major challenges for broadband upgrades due to aging in-building wiring and the cost and disruption of fiber deployment. Intracom Telecom’s WiBAS™ G5 MDUConnect is a solution that overcomes these hurdles, delivering -gigabit access by combining high-capacity mmWave Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) with in-building G.hn distribution over existing cabling infrastructure. No digging. No rewiring. Just fast, scalable broadband, anywhere.

Why WiBAS™ G5 MDUConnect?

  • Accelerated Rollout:

Faster and more cost-effective than Fiber-to-the-Unit (FTTU). Avoids trenching and apartment-by-apartment installations.

  • Infrastructure Reuse:

Utilizes existing twisted-pair or coaxial cabling, no need to open walls or disrupt tenants.

  • Carrier-Grade Performance:

Delivers up to 1.8 Gbps per subscriber port ideal for UHD streaming, gaming, and remote work.

  • Modular and Scalable:

Supports MDUs of any size and age, including those with legacy wiring, using modular GAM configurations.

  • Unified Management:

Integrated with uni|MS™, enabling centralized provisioning, SLA monitoring, and OSS/BSS integration.

Solution Architecture Overview

Outdoor Layer – mmWave FWA Access

At the rooftop, the WiBAS™ G5 GigaConnect+ Terminal Station connects to the operator’s mmWave network using licensed 24–39 GHz spectrum. It provides up to 2.5 Gbps per unit and is installed in less than 15 minutes.

Zero-Touch Provisioning & QoS

From initial setup to individual service activation, the system is managed via uni|MS™, supporting automated device discovery, provisioning, and per-apartment QoS and VLAN tagging for advanced service differentiation.

Indoor Layer – G.hn In-Building Distribution

Data is passed from the rooftop TS to an indoor or outdoor G.hn Aggregation Multiplexer (GAM), which distributes it through the building using existing coax or twisted-pair wiring. Each apartment features a compact G.hn terminal device with Ethernet output.

Deployment Use Cases

Retail Deployments:
  • Residential MDUs and MTUs
  • Hospitality venues and student housing
  • Mixed-use buildings with integrated connectivity demands
Wholesale Deployments:
  • Government and municipal broadband programs
  • Circuit leasing to ISPs or neutral hosts
  • Fiber-alternative access in underserved areas

Management and Orchestration

The entire hybrid architecture is orchestrated through uni|MS™, Intracom Telecom's unified network management suite. Operators benefit from:

  • Zero-touch provisioning with SON Gateway.
  • QoS enforcement per VLAN, per subscriber.
  • Integrated OSS/BSS support.
  • Historical performance analytics and inventory tracking.

This ensures full control over both the wireless and wired segments, under a single platform.

A Future-Proof Investment

WiBAS™ G5 MDUConnect empowers network operators to extend fiber-grade services without the limitations of traditional deployment models. It's the ideal fit for:

  • Greenfield deployments with structured Ethernet cabling seeking rapid time-to-market.
  • Brownfield buildings constrained by legacy twisted pair or coax cabling.
  • Dense urban environments with limited fiber trenching viability.

Whether upgrading MDUs, commercial premises, or campus-style MTUs, Intracom Telecom's hybrid solution enables fast, reliable, and scalable broadband distribution from rooftop to room.
